Updated over a week ago

There are 3 ways to connect your printer to POS

But first - Printers loose connection without paper
Make sure your printer is loaded with paper or else it will not connect to any of the below options. The paper rolls needs to be standard 80mm (3, 1/8).

Option 1: Ethernet cable/LAN
Grab your ethernet cable and plug into a ethernet port or router and connect it directly to your printer. Make sure your printer light is constant green on the front of the printer.

Troubleshooting

  • Your ethernet router is turned on and supplying an ethernet connection. If the green ethernet icon on the front of the printer is blinking and it did not go constant after 5 minutes you can try to turn it off and on or else it seems that you are missing an ethernet connection.

  • Cables are connected properly to the printer and router

  • Unplug the printer from the power cable, remove all USB cables and turn it off. Wait 1 minute and turn it on again. Start by only connecting the power cable.

  • Make sure there is paper rolls in the printer

Option 2: Bluetooth
If your printer allows a bluetooth connection you can easily connect it by heading into your iPad settings and locating the printer name which usually starts mc-print3-XXXX.

Beware that bluetooth will be disconnected if the printer has a ethernet cable connected.

Troubleshooting

  • Unplug the printer from the power cable, remove all USB cables and turn it off. Wait 1 minute and turn it on again. Start by only connecting the power cable.

  • The bluetooth icon is blinking and not staying constant: You need to head into your iPad settings > bluetooth > Click on the printers name > Forget device. The printer is now removed from your list and you will be able to reselect it again to connect.

  • Make sure there is paper rolls in the printer

Option 3: Connect with a cable

Alternative solution is to connect your printer with a lightening cable directly from the printer to the iPad and it will automatically obtain connection to your iPad.
