A restaurant can connect more than one device to a single fiscal printer and, thus, have multiple "cash registers" without having to purchase more fiscal printers.

When doing the EOD it must be done on all devices as per usual. The first EOD commands the fiscal closing, thus the fiscal closing will register the total sales of the day. The subsequent EODs on all other devices connected to the fiscal printer will result in a fiscal closing at 0.00 euro, but in the internal EOD the sales made from that device will be registered.
