Get to know: Superb RES for iPad Dashboard

The Superb RES iPad app Dashboard, your home base for in-service reservation management.

Updated over 2 years ago

When logging into your RES iPad app, the dashboard will be your default landing page. This page contains all the information you'll need to quickly and conveniently manage reservations in service. Let's take a look!

The first thing you'll want to do is make sure you are looking at the correct day. By default you will be shown today, but can navigate to other dates using the arrows or date picker by clicking on the date shown. To return to today simply click on the TODAY button.

Add a reservation

To add a reservation use the reservation button or long tap directly in the grid and fill out the required information, starting with a guest. The date & time will be entered by default using either the current date and time or the date and time you selected when long tapping in the grid. The defaults you have set up on web will also be autofilled, for example guest number and duration. Before saving the reservation you will have the option to send a confirmation email or SMS.

Viewing & managing reservations

Once you have selected the date you wish to view, the reservations for that day will be visible both in the time-table style grid, and the list of Reservations on the left.

The Reservations list on the left side of the dashboard allows you to view your reservations for the day by different groupings including by Dietary requests, Status and Time using the filter icon. Using expand all allows you to see the different Guest, Internal and Profile notes, which help you get to know the needs of your guest for each reservation.

  • Dietary requests is a useful view for sharing information with your chef and servers to ensure all requests are met.

  • Viewing by Status is especially helpful if you tend to have cancellations, no shows and a waiting list. By clicking on the counters you can further filter the list so you can identify reservations that have cancelled for example and contact someone on the waitlist.

  • Viewing my time is good to keep track of reservations throughout service. Reservations can also be viewing according to time from within the grid.

Reservations can be edited by either tapping on the reservation in the list, then tapping the 'Edit/Overview' button, or by tapping on the right edge of the reservation in the list and sliding left.

The Dashboard Grid is the easiest way to see your reservations by time and table. The reservations will appear in different colour depending on their status.

  • To move a reservation within a day simply long tap on the reservation and drag it a different table or time.

  • Overlapping reservations will be represented by shading during the overlapping times. Reservations can only overlap when changed manually by a staff member.

  • The grid can be zoomed in and out by using finger pinching

  • The tables can be sorted by either table name or capacity using the filter icon above the able column.

Reservations can be edited by tapping on the reservation in the grid, then tapping the 'Edit/Overview' button.

But what do the icons mean?

Similar to on desktop reservations will have icons on them to highlight something special about them.

  • A speech bubble icon means the reservation has either a Guest, Internal or Profile note.

  • A star icon means the guest is a VIP

  • A plant icon highlights that the guest has a dietary request

  • A ghost icon means that the reservation has a no-show fee

  • And finally a credit card is a pre-paid experience

The dashboard automatically updates regularly, but you can always manually refresh using the refresh button in the top right corner.
