How do I refund a guest?

Here is how you can refund a guest from the Adyen Financial Account.

Here are a few easy steps on how to make a refund in Adyen:

1. Log into your Adyen account, you can do it by clicking here.

2. Go to Transactions and then click on Payments.

3. Find the payment that you want to refund by either manually looking it up in the list of transactions or by copying the ID number of the reservation from your reservations platform.

*To find the booking ID from the Reservations platform. In PARTNER, click on the menu icon and then select GUESTBOOK. Now you can search for the reservation by typing in the name of the guest you want to refund. Click on the name of the guest and a list of all their reservations will show. You can now copy the ID of the specific reservation.

4. Paste the ID number in the search bar and click on the PSP reference code in the PSP Reference column. You will then be redirected to the payment details of that specific transaction.

5. Click on REFUND PAYMENT in the top right corner.

6. Enter the amount you want to refund and tick the "I confirm I want to refund this payment" box, then press refund.


In case you do not see the Refund option or can't perform the refund:

  • Your user does not have the right to refund payments (please reach out to your admin user to fix this).

  • The payment method does not support refunds, or a refund is not possible anymore at this point in time.

  • Your Adyen account does not have sufficient funds to perform the refund. Here is how to send money to your account.

Note that if you do not have access to Adyen Financial account, please contact our support team and we will create a user for you.
