Troubleshooting: Guest bill printers

Bill Printer Troubleshooting

This guide helps you resolve common issues when your printer stops printing guest bills.

Quick Workaround

If you need to continue printing immediately while troubleshooting:

USB-C connection: Connect your printer directly to your iPad with a USB-C cable for instant connection

Mobile hotspot: Connect your iPad to your phone's personal hotspot to bypass network issues

Step 1: Check for Paper

Is there paper in the printer?

  1. If the printer is out of paper, insert a new roll
  2. Ensure the paper is loaded correctly

If the printer still doesn't work, continue with the troubleshooting steps below based on your connection type.

USB Cable Connection

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Reconnect the cables
  2. Unplug all USB cables from the printer and device
  3. Plug them back in, trying different USB ports if available

Check cable condition

  1. Inspect the cable for visible damage (fraying, bent connectors, etc.)
  2. If damaged, replace the cable with a new one

Test the connection

  1. Attempt to print a test bill
  2. If still not working, try a different USB cable

Ethernet or WiFi Connection

Check Printer Status

Blinking green light = Printer has lost network connection

Troubleshooting Steps

Restart the printer
  1. Turn the printer off
  2. Wait 10 seconds
  3. Turn it back on
  4. Check if the green light is now constant (solid green = connected)

Verify network connectivity
  1. Confirm your internet router is online
  2. Test if other devices can connect to the network
  3. If the network is down, use a USB cable as a temporary solution while resolving the network issue

Reconnect network cables
  1. For Ethernet: Unplug the ethernet cable completely, wait 5 seconds, then reconnect it
  2. For WiFi: Remove and reinsert the WiFi dongle. Turn the printer off and on again

Check the indicator light

Solid green: Printer is connected and ready

Blinking green: Still not connected, repeat steps or contact support
