How to Set Up Categories and Products


This guide explains how to set up your menu in the POS app by creating categories and adding products.


Setting up your menu requires two steps:
  1. Create categories (starters, mains, drinks, desserts, etc.)
  2. Add products (food and drink items) to each category



Adding Categories

  1. Go to the POS back office
  2. In the menu, tap INVENTORY, then CATEGORIES
  3. On the Category page, add:
    • Category name
    • Category type
    • Image (will be shown in the POS app)
  1. Tap SAVE CATEGORY


Parent Categories and Subcategories

For main categories:

  • Use No parent under the PARENT CATEGORY field
  • Once saved, main categories appear in the PARENT CATEGORY drop-down menu

For subcategories:

  • Select which parent category they belong to from the drop-down menu
  • Subcategories will be nested under the parent category

After saving, both categories and subcategories will be visible on the left side of the screen.



Adding Products

  1. Go to the POS back office
  2. In the menu, tap INVENTORY, then PRODUCTS
  3. Configure the following settings:


Basic Information
  • NAME: Enter the product name
  • PHOTO: Add an image (optional)
  • UNIT: Select the measurement unit
  • AGE RESTRICTIONS: Set if applicable


Status Settings
  • ACTIVE: Make sure this is selected
  • OFFLINE: Make sure this is selected
  • REQUIRES PREPARATION: Select this if the product should print on kitchen or bar printer


Product Details
  • SKU: Tap the + next to the field for automatic generation
  • PRODUCT ID: Automatically generated when you tap +
  • CATEGORIES: Select where this product appears in your menu
  • ADD-ON: Enable if this product can be added to other items (e.g., extra tomatoes, rice on the side)


Stock Management
  • STOCKS: Enter the quantity available at each location
  • Make sure locations are already created in the Stock function


Pricing
  1. Click the PRICING button
  2. Tap default
  3. A window will appear to set:
    • Cost price
    • Retail price
    • VAT rate
  1. Tap OK to save


Variants (Optional)

For products with multiple versions (e.g., different dumpling types):

  1. In the VARIANTS section, type the variant name
  2. SKU, STOCK, and PRICING settings remain the same as the main product
  3. Use ADD to create more variants
  4. Save all changes with SAVE PRODUCT


Add-On Products (Optional)
  • In the ADD-ON PRODUCTS section, select which add-ons can be added to this product
  • Example: Side orders for main courses


Adding and Viewing Stock
  1. Go to the POS back office
  2. In the menu, tap INVENTORY, then STOCK
  3. Add location details under DETAILS
  4. Tap STOCK to view all inventory products


Export Stock Information

You can download your stock information as:

  • PDF file
  • CSV file



Quick Setup Checklist


Categories:

✅ Main categories created with "No parent"

✅ Subcategories assigned to parent categories

✅ Images added for visual reference


Products:

✅ Product names entered

✅ SKU and Product ID generated

✅ Categories assigned

✅ Stock quantities added

✅ Pricing and VAT configured

✅ Kitchen printing enabled (if needed)

✅ Variants created (if applicable)

✅ Add-ons configured (if applicable)
