How to connect a printer to print guest bills

This guide explains how to connect your printer to Superb POS to print guest bills.

Before you start: load paper in the printer

Critical: Printers lose connection without paper loaded.

Paper requirements:

Standard 80mm (3 1/8") thermal paper rolls

Ensure paper is properly loaded before attempting connection

Without paper, the printer will not connect using any method below.

Three ways to connect your printer

You can connect your printer using one of three methods:

  1. Connect ethernet cable
  • Plug ethernet cable into an ethernet port or router
  • Connect the other end directly to your printer

  1. Verify connection
  • Check that the printer light is constant green on the front
  • If blinking after 5 minutes, proceed to troubleshooting

Troubleshooting ethernet connection

Green light is blinking:

  • Verify your ethernet router is turned on and supplying connection
  • If still blinking after 5 minutes, there may be no ethernet connection

Connection issues:

  1. Check cables are connected properly to printer and router
  2. Unplug printer from power cable
  3. Remove all USB cables
  4. Turn printer off
  5. Wait 1 minute
  6. Turn printer back on
  7. Connect only the power cable first
  8. Ensure paper rolls are loaded in the printer

Option 2: bluetooth

  1. Enable bluetooth on iPad
  • Go to iPad Settings
  • Navigate to Bluetooth

  1. Locate printer
  • Find the printer name (usually starts with: mc-print3-XXXX)
  • Select to connect

Important: Bluetooth will be disconnected if an ethernet cable is connected to the printer.

Troubleshooting bluetooth connection

Bluetooth icon blinking (not constant):

  1. Go to iPad Settings > Bluetooth
  2. Click on the printer name
  3. Select Forget Device
  4. The printer is now removed from your list
  5. Reselect the printer to connect again

General troubleshooting:

  1. Unplug printer from power cable
  2. Remove all USB cables
  3. Turn printer off
  4. Wait 1 minute
  5. Turn printer back on
  6. Connect only the power cable first
  7. Ensure paper rolls are loaded in the printer

Option 3: direct cable connection

  1. Connect with cable
  • Use a Lightning cable (or USB-C depending on your iPad)
  • Connect directly from printer to iPad
  • Connection will be established automatically
