What eFattura is and how Superb POS supports it

The two ways to issue an electronic invoice with Superb POS and GetYourBill, and what your accountant needs to know.

eFattura (electronic invoicing) can be issued in two ways with Superb POS and GetYourBill (GYB): as an invoice based on a scontrino fiscale (fiscal receipt) in the Superb POS app, or as a standalone invoice created in GYB.

What you need

  • eFattura enabled in the Superb POS app and a linked GetYourBill profile

The two ways to issue an eFattura with Superb POS and GetYourBill

There are two invoicing methods, and each one is used for a different type of customer.

  • Invoice from a scontrino fiscale in the Superb POS app. Used for standard Italian VAT numbers. The invoice is based on the documento commerciale (commercial document) issued at the till.
  • Invoice created directly in GetYourBill. Used for regime forfettario (flat-rate scheme) VAT numbers and foreign VAT numbers, which the Superb POS app cannot look up.

Issue an invoice from a scontrino fiscale in the Superb POS app

The Superb POS app issues a fattura da documento commerciale — an invoice based on the scontrino fiscale (fiscal receipt) produced at the till. Issuing an invoice from a documento commerciale is permitted by the Agenzia delle Entrate (Italian Revenue Agency) under current legislation, per FAQ no. 45 of 21 December 2018.

  • The customer's registry details are retrieved from a single input: the buyer's Partita IVA (VAT number).
  • Retrieving the details from the Partita IVA makes the process faster and prevents data-entry errors.
  • The Superb POS app cannot find regime forfettario (flat-rate scheme) VAT numbers or foreign VAT numbers. Issue invoices for those customers directly on the GYB platform.

What to tell your accountant about invoices from a documento commerciale

An invoice issued from a documento commerciale does not replace the documento commerciale.

  • The primary document remains the documento commerciale issued at the moment of payment at the till. The invoice is based on that documento commerciale.
  • Issuing two fiscal documents for one transaction is correct. The documento commerciale covers the tax position of the seller (the restaurant), and the invoice covers the tax position of the buyer (the restaurant's guest).
  • For the restaurant's tax position, the document that counts is the documento commerciale, not the invoice. The Agenzia delle Entrate calculates taxes and VAT due on the basis of the documenti commerciali, not on invoices issued from a documento commerciale.

Issue an invoice directly in GetYourBill

An invoice created directly in GYB is not based on an existing documento commerciale, so the sale must be processed in the Superb POS app without printing a fiscal document. Creating a customer profile in GYB also makes it possible to invoice regime forfettario and foreign VAT numbers.

  1. Open the bill the customer has to pay.
  2. Tap Print bill and print two pre-bills, one for you and one for the customer.
  3. Tap Tender.
  4. Choose the payment method.
  5. Tap Tender again.
  6. At the Print Receipt prompt, clear the tick box so that no fiscal document is printed.
  7. Clear the Send eFattura tick box as well.
  8. Tap SKIP to finish.

No documento commerciale is printed, and the sale is still recorded in the statistics. Issue the invoice afterwards directly on the GYB platform.
