How to set up payment methods for a register

Turn cash, card, other payments and invoice on or off for your registers.

Each payment method is turned on separately. Cash and card are set for each register. Other payments and invoice are set for the whole account.

Cash

  1. Open the register settings.
  2. Turn cash on or off.
  3. Save.

When cash is off, the register does not ask for cash at Begin Day or at Close day, and cash is not shown in the register's end-of-day report.

Card

Card payments need a payment terminal connected to the register. A register without a terminal cannot take card payments. See How to connect a payment terminal to Superb POS.

Other payments

Other payments are your own payment types, for example vouchers or staff meals.

  1. Turn on Other payments.
  2. Add your own payment types.
  3. Choose one payment type as default if you want. Staff can then tap Other and take payment in one step.
  4. Save.

In countries where payment types are reported to the tax authorities, link each payment type to the matching fiscal payment method.

Invoice

Invoice is an add-on. Invoice is turned on in the Invoicing module. See How to invoice a bill in Superb POS.

Open the cash drawer on cash payments

A cash drawer connected to the receipt printer opens when a cash payment is taken. See How to choose what each printer prints.
