How to manage gift card expiration
Gift card expiration in Superb Partner is set when a gift card is created
Gift card expiration is set at the moment a gift card is created, and the Gift card expiration setting in Partner controls the expiration applied to every gift card created after the setting is saved.
How gift card expiration works
Each gift card receives its expiration date when the gift card is created, based on the Gift card expiration setting that is active at that moment.
- Changing the Gift card expiration setting never affects gift cards that already exist.
- Each existing gift card keeps the expiration date assigned when that gift card was created.
- The current setting applies only to gift cards created after the change is saved.
Example:
- Gift card A is created on 01.06.26 with a 1-year setting, so gift card A expires on 01.06.27.
- The setting is changed to 3 years.
- Gift card B is created on 02.06.26, so gift card B expires on 02.06.29.
- The setting is changed to 2 years.
- Gift card C is created on 03.06.26, so gift card C expires on 03.06.28.
Gift card A still expires on 01.06.27. Neither change affects gift card A.
Update the gift card expiration setting
- Go to Settings → Gift cards in Partner.
- Find Gift card expiration.
- Enter the duration you want.
- Click Save.
Every gift card created after saving uses the new expiration duration.
A duration is always required. Check whether your country sets a legal minimum validity period for gift cards before choosing a duration.
Extend the validity of an existing gift card
The duration of an existing gift card can be extended manually. The duration of an existing gift card cannot be shortened.
