How to close the day and print the Z-report

Count the cash, close the register and create the Z-report at the end of the day.

Closing the day ends the trading day on a register. Closing the day locks the day's totals and creates the Z-report. The Z-report is a numbered report of the day's sales and payments.

Close the day

  1. In Superb POS, go to End of day.
  2. Select Close day.
  3. If the register handles cash, count the cash. See the next section.
  4. Review the totals.
  5. Confirm. The day is closed and the Z-report is created.

A new trading day starts with Begin Day. See How to start the day in Superb POS.

Count the cash

  1. Count the cash in the drawer.
  2. Enter the total amount.
  3. Press = to register the amount.
  4. Press NEXT.

Superb compares the counted amount with the expected amount. The expected amount is the starting cash plus the cash sales of the day. If the amounts are different, Superb asks you to explain the difference before you can close the day.

Get a copy of the Z-report

After closing, you can send a copy of the Z-report by email for your records.

See closed registers

The Z-Reports page in your daily reports shows each register, who closed it, when it was closed, and if the cash matched.
