How to create a set menu as a product
How to create set menus (bundled products)
This guide explains how to create set menus that can be added to bills with one tap in your POS system.
What are set menus?
Set menus (bundled products) allow you to group multiple items together as one product. This means:
- Add complete menus with a single tap
- Fire specific courses or the entire menu to the kitchen
- Faster service with fewer taps
- Clean guest bills showing only the menu name
Creating your set menu
In your backoffice
- Create a new product that represents your set menu
- Check the "Bundle product" checkbox
- Add bundled products:
- A new tab called "Bundled Products" will appear
- Add the different products that make up your set menu
- Enter the sequence number for each product (this determines the order on the bill)
- If you haven't created the individual products yet, click SAVE and add them later
- Assign the shop:
- Make sure "shop" is assigned in the shop field for both the bundle product and all child products
Important pricing setup
- Set menu price: Assign a price and VAT rate to the main set menu product
- Individual item prices: Individual items can have prices set to zero (their prices will be disregarded)
- Stock tracking: Individual items will have their stock reduced when the set menu is sold
- Recorded sale: Only the set menu price is recorded, not individual item prices
Using set menus in Superb POS
- Add to bill: Tap on your set menu product in the POS app
- All items added: All items belonging to the menu are added automatically
- Add comments:
- Comment on the entire menu, or
- Comment on specific items within the menu
- Fire to kitchen:
- Fire the entire menu at once, or
- Fire specific items separately for course timing
Guest Bills
What guests see:
- Only the set menu name appears on the bill
- Individual items within the menu are not shown
- Creates a clean, concise bill that's easy to understand
Example:
- Guest bill shows: "Three Course Menu - €45"
- Guest bill does NOT show: Starter, Main Course, Dessert individually
Key Benefits
- Faster service: One tap adds the entire menu
- Kitchen control: Fire courses individually or together
- Cleaner bills: Simplified presentation for guests
- Stock management: Automatic stock reduction for all components
- Flexible communication: Add comments to the whole menu or specific items
The set menu product must have a price and VAT rate assigned
Individual items in the menu will have stock reduced when sold
Individual item prices are ignored (only the bundle price matters)
Sequence numbers determine the order items appear
Both bundle and child products must be assigned to the correct shop
