Trouble shooting: Card terminal integration

Card Terminal Integration Shows Red

This guide helps you restore connection when your card terminal shows as red (disconnected) in the POS app.

Before you start confirm these two requirements are met:

Same WiFi network: iPad and terminal must be connected to the same WiFi network

Matching details: IP address, terminal model, and serial number in POS must match those on the terminal

How to check terminal details on your iPad

  1. Open the POS app
  2. Flip the screen to access Backoffice
  3. Go to Settings > Terminal
  4. On the right side at the top, click Adyen (Wi-Fi)
  5. Check the IP address and serial number
  6. Important: Serial number must include "S1E-"

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Navigate to register settings
  • Go to Settings > Registers

  1. Select and configure the register
  • Select the register for the relevant location from the list on the left
  • Check the box "This is an integrated card terminal"
  • Click Update

Step 2: Connect Terminal to WiFi

For first-time setup:

  1. Turn on the terminal
  2. Tap the "+" button
  3. Turn WLAN on
  4. Select your network
  5. Enter the network password
  6. Click Connect

  5. Wait for any software updates to complete before proceeding

Note: Confirm the terminal is assigned to the correct shop if setting up for the first time.

Step 3: Enter Terminal Details in POS

You need to enter the IP address and serial number from your card terminal into the POS system.

Finding Terminal Information
  1. On your card terminal, tap Settings
  2. Tap Device info

IP Address
  1. Look for Wi-Fi address in Device info
  2. Copy the complete IP address including all dots
  3. Enter this in the first row in POS

Example: 192.168.1.100

Serial Number
  1. Find the serial number in Device info
  2. Format: Device name (S1E) + dash (-) + serial number
  3. No spaces
  4. Use exact capitalization shown on terminal

Example: S1E-000150205012890

Save Configuration
  1. Enter both IP address and serial number in POS
  2. Click Save

Verification

After completing all steps:

  • The terminal icon in POS should turn from red to green
  • Test with a small transaction to confirm connection

Common Issues

Terminal still shows red:

  • Verify both devices are on the same WiFi network
  • Double-check IP address was entered correctly (including all dots)
  • Confirm serial number format includes "S1E-" with no spaces
  • Ensure software updates on terminal are complete

Password not working:

  • Try 2275 first
  • If that doesn't work, try 1010
