How to Create Add-Ons to Products

This guide explains how to set up add-on products that can be added to your main menu items.

Add-ons are optional items that customers can add to main products. Examples include:

Extra toppings (cheese, bacon, avocado)

Side orders (fries, salad, rice)

Sauce options

Drink additions (extra shot, syrup)

Step 1: Create the Add-On Product

1. Log in to your Backoffice

• From the home page, click INVENTORY
• Click PRODUCTS

2. Create a new product

• Click to create a new product
• Enter the product name and details

3. Enable add-on functionality

• Check the ADD-ON box
• This marks the product as available to be added to other items

4. Set kitchen preparation (if needed)

• If the add-on requires kitchen or bar preparation, check REQUIRES PREPARATION
• This ensures the add-on prints on kitchen/bar printers

5. Save the add-on

• Click SAVE PRODUCT

Step 2: Add the Add-On to Main Products

1. Open the main product

• Navigate to the main product you want to add this option to
• Example: Burger, Pasta, Coffee

2. Access add-on section

• Scroll to the ADD-ON PRODUCTS section

3. Search and add

• Type the add-on name in the search bar
• Select the add-on from the results

4. Save changes

• Click UPDATE PRODUCT

Example Use Cases

Restaurant Add-Ons

• Main product: Burger
• Add-ons: Extra cheese, bacon, avocado, side salad

Coffee Shop Add-Ons

• Main product: Latte
• Add-ons: Extra shot, vanilla syrup, oat milk

Main Course Add-Ons

• Main product: Grilled chicken
• Add-ons: Side of fries, steamed vegetables, garlic bread

Important Notes

• Create first, assign later: Add-ons must be created as products before assigning them
• Kitchen printing: Only enable REQUIRES PREPARATION if the add-on needs to be prepared
• Multiple products: The same add-on can be assigned to multiple main products
• Pricing: Set the add-on price when creating the product
