Here is how to fix it:
Make sure the cash drawer is plugged into the printer. It has a smaller connector cable that looks like an old phone cable and goes into the printer.
In the POS app, switch to settings in the top left corner → Settings → Printers, and make sure there is a checkmark under Cash Drawer.
Ensure the printer is turned on for the drawer to work.
